500 Years

five hundred years
or just a mile
we only here
for just a little while

so be good
make your bed
try to keep the crazies
out of your head

find a song
sing it loud
of you, my heart
I’m always proud

grow strong
play fair
when your friends talk
really, do care

cuz when the sun fades
and the rains glisten
you’ll want someone there
who’ll really listen

now go play
mind your manners
yes we’ll stuff your pancakes
with tasty bananas

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
