Yawning Cat, Snoring Cat

Yawning cat, snoring cat
What do you dream
Barns full of catchable mice
Or a bowl full of sweet cream
Your claws pop and curl out
As I smartly jump back
Watch out there little world
Jack is on the attack
Then comes a whole body shrug
Across a zipcode or two
Then devious eyes slit open
Not caring who watches you
Nothing catches your fancy
As eyes pillow into a close
Whiskers twitch just a smidge
Guarding an impossibly pink nose
Then Jack rolls over onto his back
Returning to a catnap dream
Morale: the only really crucial thing
Is whatever the cat may deem

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
