Speed Bumps

My kid has a little friend
Who is growing up quite well
She swims like the fishes
And writes like ringing a bell
But there’s trouble in the home
In my throat leaps some lumps
I pray it isn’t anything direly serious
Just one of Life’s little maturation speed bumps
My daughter is sworn to secrecy
A pledge she will not break
A pledge I wholeheartedly endorse
A real and true Friendship is at stake
More of Life’s pop quizzes do lurk around
May we all grow up to be safe and sound

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
