Missed

A scratch at the window
Purring in the ear
A warbling meow
Announces the Cat is here
I reach above the ears
To rub there betwixter
But the Cat runs off
Love missed by a whisker
Chasing the pink ball
Or pawing after your toes
Remember its the Cat’s house
As everybody pro-feline knows
Hey, my Cat is the best
Geevers, Little Bit, Buddy, or Jack
Just keep the bowl filled
Or you’ll be in for an attack
I reach between the shoulders
To pet there betwixter
But the Cat makes for outdoors
Love missed by a whisker

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
