Thanks, Boss

O, why can’t real life be ever so grand
As when Lord Grantham takes Tom’s hand
O dude, things can quite such as understood
People can be so kind and Life can be very good
There’s neighbor helping neighbor
Even deep in the dregs of December
And then happens Magic: Lo, a baby is born
Happiness’ path, you will see, is quite well worn
But the nicest example that I know
I’ll be happy to slip and let show
There’s this gorilla lady of high degree
Esteemed by all and certainly by me
Works so hard without using the Force
Even though this path was not her first choice
Works two job clubs of such stellar repute
Without her net work it’s all quite kaput
She never sleeps, uncounted are infinite sheep
Wisely her own counsel does she ever keep
Who is this paragon of employment mentorship
I’ll be there soon, but for now let me quip
Resume, interview, follow up, network and then
Dreams are to be dashed and you start all over again
And, there will be Kathy egging you onto your very best
Finding that ideal job your very soul will it test
But we’re taught: never, never throw in the towel
So: Happy Birthday, Kathy Lansford-Powell !!!

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
