Sunscreen! Sunscreen!

SUNSCREEN! SUNSCREEN!
HAT! HAT!! HAT!!!
LATHER ON THE SUNSCREEN
AND YANK ON YOUR HAT.
THE SUN DOESN’T CARE
IF YOU’RE NICE OR NOT;
LATHER ON THE SUNSCREEN
OR YOU’LL BURN AND THEN ROT.
SUNSCREEN! SUNSCREEN!
HAT! HAT! HAT!
THE FRYING SUN DOESN’T CARE
WHETHER YOU’RE SKINNY OR FAT.
GET A REAL NICE FLOPPY SOMBRERO
COVERING FROM BROW TO NECK,
OR YOUR SKIN, WHEN YOU’RE THIRTY,
WILL MAKE PEOPLE GO “OOH, YECK!”
SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN
AND DON’T FORGET THAT HAT!
Don’t forget plenty of fluids
And don’t forget the brat!

Happy 4th!

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
