The Unmistakable Season Has Arrived

The trip leading to a shiver
Means popping out of bed.
Usually coffee does the trick;
Today, it’s hot chocolate instead!

The unmistakable season has arrived.
Put the old pot on the stove.
Get that water up to a boil,
Time for some hot chocolate love.

Breezes are now from the North;
The leaves have started to turn.
Thoughts of a jolly old gent
And bangles on an isosceles fern.

There’re those happy little bubbles.
Soon the aroma of winter wafts up.
It’s gonna be a new great day
Because it’s hot chocolate in my cup!
Want some?

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
