One Answer

The words won’t come…
The tears won’t fall…
So many things
Totally appall:
Murder of a child,
Grandmother ignored in pain,
Such unthinkable things—
Why are we not all insane?
Every day we try,
Every day we grow,
Life means moving forward,
Even if we’ve nowhere to go.
But you can count on me
As I will rely on you—
It’s all ‘love your neighbor’
That keeps our hearts on true.
So, when Life starts to crush
And Reason churns into travail:
We can surely look to each other
When our tears and words do fail.

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
