A Bushy Tailed Tale

I have this cat
Who’s afraid of squirrels;
Kind of like me
When I was scared of girls.
They’d come one way,
I’d run the other.
It was just times like that
When one needed one’s mother.
And she would counsel: “Son,
Girls are really pretty nice.”
It’d be lots later I’d grow a taste
For that kind of sugar and spice.
So, I have this skittish feline
With issues over ‘bushy-tailed tree rats;’
And now I would kind of like a girlfriend
Who’ll put with me and one of those scaredy cats.
Jack! Come back here….!

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
