Pins and Needles

Lady Margaret Thistlebottom
Has returned with some sharp new tricks;
This time involving gentlemen’s clothes
And Milady’s set of gold and silver toothpicks.
Lady Margaret thought it would be keen
To pin brother’s pants to the wall.
Using the high chair, she nailed them high,
Where brother couldn’t reach them at all.
Lord Thistlebottom’s paisley under bottoms
Got pinned to the manor’s garden gate,
Because they were so colourful, like the flowers inside,
And Lady Margaret thought that was just great!
Lady Margaret got the groundsman’s deerhunter
To be pinned to the top of the manor way;
But the groundsman was wise (he had his spies)
And caught Lady Margaret with a “Stay!”
My Lord Punctillious Thistlebottom discovered
That it could be awfully hard to sit down;
As Lord Thistlebottom found, when he went to sit,
And located some pins Lady Margaret had left lying around!
Lady Margaret Thistlebottom is back in her room
With her own sit-uation set ablaze.
Now it is sincerely hoped, as parents have coped,
That Lady Margaret will mend her errant ways!

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
