Safe and Warm

The worst is over
You’re safe from harm.
Blankets and pillows
Are soft and warm.
Mummy is there
To wipe your brow;
Papa still says
You’re the cat’s meow.
Buddies and friends
Can visit with you later;
You’ll need more time to heal
That scrape up there on your tater.
And, tomorrow morning
You’ll be all right;
But for now, Little Buddy,
It’s: “Sweet Dreams and Good Night.”

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
