Jonquil Jeffers

Jonquil Jeffers
Reading her poetry book
With markéd disdain
She titters at how
The writer simply MUST rhyme
Again and again
Jonquil Jeffers
Putting down her poetry book
Runs outside to play
She marvels at how
Year after year
April turns into May
Jonquil Jeffers
Sneezes: Great Bejeebers!
Suffering with the record pollen
Even Sainted Father
Eyes red-rimmed and crusty
Oh, even the mighty have fallen.
Jonquil Jeffers
Returning her poetry book
To the library shelf
She never quite gets
The author’s point
Oh well…

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
