RIA, Johnny Ray Allen

Dying is the forever goodbye:
Won’t you grow old disgracefully with me?
The ‘dude has left for the Heavenly Chorus.
Come on, sing: “Need Somebody!”
I’m too far from Annunciation.
And Lucky’s out chasing the cat.
Channeling a primitive streak:
Hey! Johnny Ray! Whereyaat?!
Music man…poet…lover…Dad.
Our band’s lead engineer.
Come on, the amp’s on ten.
We all loved you somethin’ dear!
[Rest In Awesome!]

–JRA was founding songwriter/singer/bass player member of Continental Drifters
which morphed into the subdudes. This writer was blessed to have been there.

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
