Sparkle and Shine

I used to be
Strong and cute;
Now I’m just
Another old coot.
But you my dear
Are sparkle and shine.
May we discuss
How to make you mine?
What’s the best way
To sweep you off your feet?
Or maybe perhaps
Awe you with some feat:
Of charm and daring,
Plus a little flair.
If I told you I love you
Would you even care?
I used to young—
Ain’t that a laugh!
Now not so sure—
I’m pretty daft.
You, my precious,
Are silver and gold.
Love me quick
Before we’re too old!

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
