Reached the top of Mdone Hill.
NEVERAGAIN, I’ll work my will.
Over-many heartbreaks I’ve been put thru,
So I’ve no time left to waste with you.
From my summit I can see danger approaching—
Treacly-voiced fellows my heart they’d be poaching.
But I’ll put all you scoundrels on the run,
Then return safe to my sweet keep on Mdone.
Go away Love! Flee, pale Intimacy!
I — no longer need those paste gems for me.
I can manage warmth, but for…company…still
Maybe just one visitor will find Mdone Hill?
To tarry with his lies or perhaps a real change,
But finding someone true can only be strange.
How will I know if this new one be true?
Is there some secret or perhaps a clue?
NEVERAGAIN is safe, but oh, such a bitter pill!
But I see someone new has found the road to my Mdone Hill.
My weapons are sharp as I’ve learned only too well.
But where this new trial goes only Time can tell.

About Kitt

Sometimes a rhyme or couplet wanders across my consciousness. So, I share it. Other times I'm a hospice social worker; others, a Dad; others, southerner, New Orleanian, cajun enthusiast, voter, and on better days, a not-too-awful-poet/rhymster. Welcome to my page. Enjoy.
