Can anyone hear this?
Am I all alone?
What crime did I commit?
For what must I atone?
I am so lonely,
But I’ve got integrity worse;
Falling for the wrong heart
Seems to be my biggest curse.
My orbit distends,
A longing galactic pulls;
The sadness latterly arises
Darkening thin cheerful lulls.
But boundaries are
Just as boundaries should be:
Maybe our paths will cross
When we are free ethically.
Then I’ll be really happy
To see you once again
When it won’t matter
If you’d rate this visit a ten.
TLC Unto You
Getting home late, it’s a bit after ten!
Watch it, little nurse; you’re doing it again—
Taking care of patients better’n yourself.
If you’re not careful you’ll be back broke on the shelf!
‘Love your neighbor’ is what they say,
But that’s not until your dead tired, okay?
Yes, some charges are HIGH MAINTENANCE;
And if you could you’d give ‘em a hard penance.
Just see you get home at a more reasonable hour:
Put up some boundaries, use your Nursey Power!
Of course, you’ll keep going that extra mile—
Just get some sleep to renew your awesome smile!
