Invisible

I’m invisible,
No one sees me there;
Yes I’m invisible;
They can’t know how I hurt or that I care.
No I’m invisible,
Everyone can see right thru;
Just a wisp in the periphery
Lingering in shades of blue.
Are you invisible?
Where can you be?
Are you lonely too?
Would you like to get lost with me?
I am so invisible,
No one knows how if I care;
All can’t help but look on thru
As I fade away into the thinning Summer air.

Young Gray Heart

Past wind-swept plains
A dress tossed to the floor
Is this real—
I can’t see you anymore?

A young-believing heart
Yearns for one no longer near.
When to speak or stay dumb
Is never made very clear.

Beyond the lonely sunset,
Tears find release:
Respite unreached afar,
Was this all just a tease?

Oh, years roll fast past the years,
Younger eyes for younger smiles now glow.
An old frayed belt now cinched so tight;
The lonely and the old have nowhere else to go.

I Know I’ll Never

Scattering of chittering
And the birds have flown
So here again all alone

Thinking of you
To what end
I know I’ll never
See you ever again

So pour me a second

Yes a red will do
Maybe this is the night
I finally get over you

Hah! No chance—
The sadness augments
When it came to you
I never had any sense

Hands thru your locks
Your snort at my observation
Could you call me thence?
Should I make that reservation?

The dregs sneer and embrace me soft

Bacchus makes for second class
But my problem always was
Reaching for the next and the after glass

Goosebumps tease
And memories seize
My cell remains unrung
I miss our tongue

Uh/Say Goodnight

Uh
Yes he was dressed
As usual, distressed
As you’d know
A phone unrung
And plans uphung
As you’d know
The nick was stippled
As the ground rippled
Nowhere to go
Back in the house
Quiet as a mouse
Nowhere to go
Paid some bills
Dollar sign thrills
Is that the phone?
Run to the door
But there’s more
Is that the phone?
No one there
A buzz in the air
Say goodnight
Back to bed
Down lay the lonely head
Say goodnight
The cat meowed
As is allowed
He opened the door
But there she stood
Drenched in her parka hood
As you’d know
It began with a glance
You have to take a chance
As you’d know
Say goodnight

Conjunction

The empty space, the lonely face
Turns away
A moon arises, the day ends
Turning away
Tried to help, got home safe
Turn around
Found the wine, lost a friend
Fall down
Tears won’t come, three score or more
Look up
Feed the cat, do the dishes
Look down
Fret a chord, augmented minor
Look all around
Gorka speaks for me, walk to pueriles
Stand your ground
